A Day Off

Today is my second day off for this weekend. I cleaned my bedroom and tried setting up the curtain rod that I bought for my bedroom's (actually papa's but I'm owning it now lol) window. I got a little frustrated with it because I didn't have a screwdriver to bury the screws so I had to use nails; another frustration was having only a rubber mallet (I googled the term, phew) available at home, and obviously, it didn't work. I don't know how not to destroy the rubber while hammering the nails. Smh.

I cooked today's brunch. We had corned beef with minced carrots and potatoes. Me and my sister take turns in cooking meals at home--well, actually with almost every household chore. We split the bills too.

After eating, I decided to go for a swim. Just to give a context, swimming was once of our (siblings) past time when we were young since we live in the seaside. So when I got older, I rarely go swimming since my adult self tells me not to get my skin too damaged for having too much sun + sea exposure. But of course, the mermaid in me misses the ocean from time to time. So I went for it.

Yesterday, when I was strolling at the mall, I was able to buy a workout shorts and underwear intended for wall climbing; then I decided to use the underwear just so I get to know how it feels wearing it when swimming. The sea was refreshing as always, even though it wasn't at its best. Still therapeutic, at the same time a sleeping pill (kind of).

So now, I'm currently at a nearby coffee shop in my hometown trying to take a break by myself–a me-time. This shop is called Tuesday CafĂ©. I actually love its tropical vibe which actually matches the beaches near it. I also like coming here on a Monday since it's not as busy at it usually is in most days of the week.

That's all for today's ganap. xx
